Happy New Year 2009!!!
Honestly... could you believe this much time has gone since the whole Y2K scare? Friends and I were actually discussing this last night about everyone most people were scared shitless and went crazy buying batteries, water and other supplies I guess you'd by when... the World was supposed to stop? It seems funny now that I think of it, such a joke.
So my New Years Eve was spent quite well, the boy and I stayed home and had a little D-10 Reunion along w/Adam & Amanda. It was great, especially after spending most of the holiday season on our toes and going from place to place it was just nice to stay put and relax a little. I ended up making dinner for us, a turkey, salad, rice & dessert. (Check out pictures and more at Borough Dining.) Dining in was great because we didn't have to bring ourselves out into the blistering cold or spend ridiculous amounts of money, not to mention everyone was pretty much able to do whatever they felt like doing while they were here.
Thankfully the festivities here weren't as extreme as they were last year, I remember most of them this time around and Megan didn't get to the point where her voice turned into this high pitch sounding... thing. I didn't let myself get plastered but I did have a heavy buzz on, heavy enough to start singing ABBA songs (which I'm not a huge fan of) and sadly being the asshole while playing asshole about 4 or 5 times. NOT GOOD!
Pictures of our evening:
2008 was a great year, a lot has happened, I've learned a lot, took a huge step in leaving my job to start a new life in New York City, I went months trying to find a job and finally did. I left a lot of friends behind, changed scenery but I can't look at it as a bad step, because it isn't. 2009 should will be a good year, I will adjust to this new setting. I'll meet new people and make new friends, and do what I feel is important to me. I'll get back into school, and focus on what would make me happy too.
