Update, Twitter, Stuff...

I've been getting really into twitter, and other micro-blogging sites out there, weird how after discovering just one website you suddenly find yourself into loads of other new things.  I currently have about 900 updates on twitter and I can't help myself, I feel like I need to update every move I make, every step I take... I better watch myself though, Sting may be watching.

Yea, that was lame.

I really wish I could get my family into it, I've mentioned it to them here and there trying to get them onto it but there's only so much you can do.  It'd just be nice to know what everyone is up too every once in a while, and why not? Technology is there, might as well use it.  I think I'm just going to set up their accounts without their knowledge, set up their phones and then tell them once it's done.  Shouldn't be that hard after, right?

Next Saturday the Boy & I are heading down to Florida for a couple of days and I can't be any more excited!  I get to spend even more time with my parents & sisters! We're both flying down next weekend only on different flights and about 5 minutes apart, I got my ticket much later than he did and got a cheaper fare from a different airport.  So for about 3 hour or so we'll both be 30,000 feet up somewhere along the East Coast & Atlantic, only not together.  He's on plane A, I'll be on Plane B, kinda cool.

Now, I will say this, just because I'm flying JetBlue does NOT mean I'm gonna be okay with sitting on the plane while it decides it wants to be delayed a couple of hours.  This new Terminal 5/6 they built for this better be damn worth it! With so much technology put into the terminal itself, I hope there's enough brains for them to get us up in the air on time.

That being said.. what's for dinner?

4th Week

I'm back in Connecticut again, my niece was finally released from the hospital and is doing excellent, she's recovering quite nicely. We're all very relieved about that, my Mom is also doing well, she flew up here Sunday to help my sister out during my nieces recovery. It's nice to come back home and spend time with my family, I'm thankful for that in every way, but part of me feels like I have yet to part with calling this home.

The longest I've gone without coming back up here is about two weeks, and frankly nothing has been established in that amount of time. It's not that I don't expect everything to just fall into place, absolutely not, but I do expect to feel some sort of security. We're at the beginning of our fourth week at our new place and I still haven't found a job. I'm trying not to get myself down on that seeing how much the market sucks, job, stock, and food markets, everything sucks and here I am on the corner just watching everything flash past me. Did I mention how I never got a single email back from any of the openings I applied to on craigslist? How's that for motivation? I mentioned that to Sindis and she made me feel a little better in saying she too had to send out her resume about a thousand times.

Friday I took a walk down Broadway picking up applications and scoping out the scene, I never noticed just how busy that area happens to be. It was the first time I was out of the house on my own and exploring, it felt nice, especially after I thought I was suffering from cabin fever. The applications I picked up will be filled out once I actually stop blogging, one of the spots mentioned they were hiring for about 30hours, another also said they were hiring but did not mention for how many hours, I probably should have asked. I guess I'm more desperate than anything that I'll just accept whatever comes to me, I'd rather not have that happen without making sure it's something I'll feel comfortable with, but beggars can't be choosers. Wait, I'm not begging, am I?

Astoria

It's officially been a week and 1 day since we've been living in our apartment here in Astoria, NY.  I've gotta say, it's starting to feel more like home a little everyday, but that's probably because I'm always home.  I haven't officially found a job yet but I have taken on a new name, we'll just keep that unwraps for the time being.

Anyhow, I've been on craigslist and monster, posted my resume, sent out a few cover letters and I guess we'll see what happens.  I keep checking different places daily and... that's it.  It's stressful I'll tell ya, leaving your job of almost 5 years, moving into a big city, it's a HUGE HUGE step.  I only hope it's for the best.  I will say I'm so ready to get back into school this spring, it's means so much to me to do this and actually feel like I'm getting somewhere in life.  Not only that, I'd only hope it'd make it even the least bit easier to find myself a job or doing something I'd actually enjoy.  It won't stop there, these days you pretty much have to get yourself a masters to get even further.  Again, lets hope for he best.

In the past few days I've found myself making dinner quite often, cooking and letting myself believe I'm on an actual cooking show, it must be the boredom.   I will say I've made some slammin' ass meals though.  As I mentioned before I think I might start little food blog on places I've been too and different meals I've made.  Last week I think we ate out every single night, which was great yet.. I definitely can't allow for that to happen so often, at least not until I get myself a job.

Today I read about Google new phone through T-mobile called the G1 and as cool and convenient as it seems something or somehow I'm still geared towards an iPhone.  A big factor for me is how pretty it is, yea system and just how important it is matters a whole lot.  I just can't decide.

D-10... Signing off.

Whoa! The Day is here... We're pretty much all packed up... finally! Just waiting for the movers to get there.  Thank God cause it's been horribly busy around here.  A special thanks for all the help of some very good friends, correction, family members.

Despite the fact that I've been nervous as hell, anxious about being jobless and everything else under the sun, I'm actually excited! I'm gonna miss coming home to (what should be worth) a half a million dollar condo, all of our Rockband nights, our silly yet crazy New Years and all of our countless runs to Taco Bell, Sun Wok, Mcd's, Stew's...  pretty much any other place in Norwalk where calories could be consumed.  But it's time to move up, with a population of 8 million that means we have lots and lots of other restaurants out there calling us.  This may bring on a new blog solely dedicated to food and ways to be fat. Til later... I'm signing off from D-10.

Astoria... here we come.
